Megan Berk’s small paintings are done in acrylic paint on wood panels with handmade in frames by the artist. Using images from old romantic films such as Philadelphia Story and Sabrina, they depict the power of dance in film, showing times when emotions are the most intense.
Megan Berk creates paintings and prints with a darkly subtle beauty. Born in Los Angeles, Berk currently works out of Red Hook, Brooklyn. In 2001, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from New York University, and in 2008, she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute. She has exhibited widely in the greater New York City area, including her 2012 solo show with Recession Art, Weird Party on the Other Side of the Hedge.
