This single-layer, relief print depicts a moment of emotion shared by a group of people. While minimal, and somewhat ambiguous in form, a commonly experienced, shared moment of celebration is easily recognized in the pictorial space of this print.
Megan Berk creates paintings and prints with a darkly subtle beauty. Born in Los Angeles, Berk currently works out of Red Hook, Brooklyn. In 2001, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from New York University, and in 2008, she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute. She has exhibited widely in the greater New York City area, including her 2012 solo show with Recession Art, Weird Party on the Other Side of the Hedge.
